Hello
from the pacific Pacific! What a smooth
ride we are having and you can barely tell the ship is moving. We had small bit of rock and roll at dinner
last night and from then on…..like sailing on a mirror! We did have fog last night and you could hear
the ship’s foghorn sounding through the night.
It wasn’t loud enough to wake you but if you were awake it was a very
comforting sound.
The
Commodore and I ate in the Crown Grill last night to avoid the dining room
cluster duck that takes place on the first night! We had a lovely dinner and thought about how
Mason was so conked out in that room last July!
His Dramamine kicked in and he spent dinner in the “land of Nod”!!
We made
our usual small donation in the casino and then it was time to call it a day.
This
morning we went up for a quick breakfast before the Commodore headed to the
gym. I met up with Jim and Walt and we
chatted over coffee. Joe showed up a
little later and Molly, Lauren and Barbara went to their knitting group. I headed off to conquer trivia…..Ha! Before I could even think of a good excuse
four Russians sat down and I was stuck!
The Commodore showed up, thank goodness, and we managed to get a 17/22
score…..not bad for the two of us!! The
others just took up space! I found a new
group this afternoon and we took third place!
We got
stuck on: What year were Disney studios
founded?
What Australian won
the Pulitzer in 1973?
It was
such a spectacular day that we spent a lot of time walking around the deck. Lots of people out there doing the same thing
so it was like Chinese Checkers….we were the Checkers! Yes, we have quite a few Asian travelers
aboard and they never think of walking “single file”! Something to ponder!
I have
news for all of you! SCOOTER SUE is
onboard!!! In all her glory! For those of you who don’t know about SUE she
was on our cruise to Alaska last summer and is quite the militant scooter user! Drives it like she’s Mario Andrete and then
hops off and with great agility chooses a prime seat for Trivia!!
I decided
before we boarded yesterday that I was not going to use the elevators at all
this trip. I had to when we boarded because
I had a suitcase but haven’t been in one since! My left knee is not thrilled
about this but…too bad! Did you know
(glad you asked!!!) that from the main floor on deck 7 to our deck 11 it’s 70
steps!! I know you are all gobsmacked!
Tomorrow
we are in San Diego and we have a date with Trevor for lunch. He’ll meet us about 11 and we told him to
find a place and we’d buy! Can’t wait to
see him!
I know
you are waiting for the “…and you thought you’d seen everything department”! At lunch today we saw some poor guy who was
obviously really lost wandering through the dining room in his bathing suit…..no
shoes no shirt no clue!
Went to
the show after dinner this evening and were really entertained by the singers
and dancers. Either we’re getting old or
the talent is getting a lot better! Don’t
answer that!
XOXOXO
M
I wonder if "Scooter Sue" is on all the trips. I remember us creating a barrier for her to get off and waddle around....
ReplyDeleteGoodness, next you'll tell me Drake is aboard!
